In a BusinessWeek article, various technology company CEOs contend that patent reform is necessary to preserve American innovation, and that due to the large backlog of applications, all the applications will take at least two years to process with the current staff. Because of that, the article claims that ā€œ700,000 [applications] are just sitting in a stack.ā€

Wait a minute, are you serious? So the last person who submits his application gets his stuff reviewed first? I think Iā€™m going to apply for a patent then!
